When we laugh we stop thinking. Laughter is a natural state capable of relieving us from the burden of ourselves. Laughter brings us into motion, stimulating an emotion. It doesn’t matter whether the laugh is spontaneous or simulated; they are both as effective in that.

However it seems that people have forgotten to laugh. Normally, people look for some reason to laugh, but these days there are very few reasons which make us laugh. People believe that you need a good sense of humour to laugh, but the reverse is also true. This is exactly the breakthrough which was achieved in laughter clubs.

A 'Laughter Club' is a group of people who want to laugh together, every week, in a public place. It has no formal structure, no office bearers, but just an anchor person who leads the group in laughter. There is no formal membership, no form to be filled in, no fee and no other fuss. You come and join the group, laugh with them and you are member of, the 'Laughter Club'.

A typical weekly laughter session is a perfect blend of various stimulated laughter techniques interspersed with breathing and stretching exercises.

Laughter Yoga has bloomed into a worldwide movement, bringing about attitudinal changes towards us all living in peace and harmony. There are now more than 1300 laughter clubs in India, USA, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, sweden, Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai, with some 50-60 estimated to be active in Australia.
