Laughter Yoga


Laughter Yoga, as developed by Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician from India, is group laughter, where anyone can laugh for 15-30 minutes every day without resorting to jokes. Laughter Yoga combines ancient Yoga techniques with science of laughter to bring numerous health, social, community and workplace benefits.

Dr. Kataria is the founder of the Laughter Clubs International (www.laughteryoga.org). Dr. Kataria lives and practices medicine in Mumbai and lectures all over the world.

Over the past two decades, extensive research has been conducted all over the world and it has been proved that laughter has a positive impact on various systems of the body. Today, scientists are convinced that laughter has both preventive and therapeutic value. Laughter, as supported by scientific findings globally, has been known to:

  relax muscles, reduce stress, pain, tension and depression;
